You should know the general overview of the Pentateuch (Torah / First 5 Books) -- what is contained within the books.
- Know the worksheets handed out in class. They are available on the website below:
- Any of the assigned reading (from the HW calendar) could be covered on the test. You have been assigned a good deal of reading, so please make sure you are prepared.
- Basic details regarding the background of the different O.T. editors
- Patriarchs / Matriarchs
- Isaac - to - Moses
- The Israelites & the Pharoah of Egypt (Akenaton)
- Be familiar with Isaac's passing of his inheritance to Jacob (vs. Esau)
- Know the relationship between Isaac's sons and their parents (Rebekah)
- Understand the complexity surrounding the passing of the birth rite.
- Understand the flight of Jacob to Laban and all that occurs with his pursuit of Rachel/Leah.
- While you do not need to memorize the family tree to this point, it would be helpful if you knew who the major players were: Isaac & Rebekah, Jacob, Leah, Rachel, Bilah, Zilpah, Joseph.
